Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the thickness of magnetic circuits and magnets by half and make a magnetic driver compact and light, by separately placing the magnets on the both ends of driving direction of a moving coil.
CONSTITUTION: Magnets 74, 74' on both the ends of a magnetic circuit unit 7 have N-poles for a yoke 75 and S-poles for another yoke 73 and similar poles for yokes 71, 73. As moving coil 6 is driven between magnets 72, 74 and others 72', 74' along the yokes. As a result, the quantity of magnetic flux of each magnet is reduced by half and the thickness of the yokes 71, 73, 75 corresponding to the magnets is also reduced by half. The efficiency of permanent magnets in general is very low unless the ratio of cross-sectional area to length is larger than a prescribed value. However, because the former magnets are separately plate placed on both the ends, an identical quantity of magnetic flux can be obtained although the cross-sectional area of each magnet is reduced by half. Since the thickness of the magnetic circuit unit is decreased to half, a magnetic driver is made compact and light as a whole.
