Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a motor which has position detecting means readily manufactured by employing a reluctance element substantially symmetrical with respect to magnetic flux polarity in the variation of resistance value in respect of the alteration of magnetic flux and position detecting poles having half the number of poles to a magnet for generating torque.
CONSTITUTION: Torque generating 8-poles are, for example, formed at equal angle and interval on the inner periphery of a rotor magnet 1, and a stator core 2 having three-phase drive windings 3∼5 is provided oppositely with the 8-poles. Half the number of torque generating poles, that is, position detecting 4-poles are formed on the outer periphery of the rotor magnet 1. There is provided magnetic reluctance elements 6∼8 symmetrical in the resistance variation of the magnetic flux alteration with respect to the magnetic flux polarity corresponding to the number of phases of a motor at the position facing with the position detecting poles so that there is angular difference of reciprocal of the number of th phases of one pole pitch of the position detecting poles. The windings 3∼5 are energized in response to the variation in the resistance value of the magnetic reluctance elements 6∼8.
