Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption by the water heater which utilizes the power supplied at night, by a method wherein feed water is preheated by utilizing the solar heat and the resulting hot water is heated by the night power. CONSTITUTION:Water filled in the solar-heat water heater 20 is heated by the solar heat 33 in the daytime to become hot water. When the temperature of the hot water exceeds a preset temperature to turn on a temperature switch 23, a motor 22 drives a pump 21, whereby water is circulated between a tank 1 and the water heater 20 through pipes 28-30 and the water in the tank 1 is heated gradually. In the period from 10p.m. to 8a.m., the water in the tank 1 is heated by a heater 2 which is fed with the night power automatically by the operation of a time switch, and the water is maintained at the preset temperature by the operation of a thermostat 3. Since the water in the tank 1 is preheated by the solar heat during the daytime, the duration of heating by the heater 2 is reduced hence the power is conserved.
