Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the apparatus for controlling operation of a combustor for an instantaneous water heater or the like compact and inexpensive, by employing an arrangement capable of accomplishing control on the amount of water to be supplied, control on the amount of fuel in relation to the amount of supplied water and control for opening and closing a fuel supply passage by a single pressure-sensitive means.
CONSTITUTION: When water supply is started, water is introduced into a high- pressure chamber 6 after its pressure is controlled by a water governor valve 4 and the pressure of water is acted to a diaphragm 5. Then, water is passed dividedly into a venturi pipe 7 and a by-passing means 8. Here, since negative pressure caused by water passing through the venturi pipe 7 is transmitted via a connecting port 13 to a low-pressure chamber 15, diaphragm 5 is moved to the left. This movement of diaphragm 5 is transmitted via a control shaft 17 to a gas valve 24 and the valve 24 is opened. Thus, it is enabled to feed gas at a rate proportional to the water flow. On the other hand, gas passed through valve 24 is introduced into a pressure chamber 25 of a gas governor 20 and then supplied to a burner 31 after its pressure is controlled by a gas governor valve 28 the setting load of which can be chaged with the water flow rate.
