Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently and continuously obtain low-moisture content dehydrated sludge by providing a pair of water-permeable master-slave filter belts, water- permeable endless electrode belt, a pressurized electroosmosis dehydrator section, and a sludge feeder.
CONSTITUTION: A sludge dehydrator consists of a roll 3' having surface of electric conductive material, a pair of water-permeable slave-master filter belts 1a, 1b which are circulating, an electric conductive, water-permeable, circulating, endless electrode belt 6, means 10, 10' to supply d.c. current to the surface of the roll 3', and a means 8' to supply d.c. current to the electrode belt 6. Sludge is pinched by the master-slave belts 1a, 1b and is dehydrated in the area 7 of a pressurized electroosmosis dehydration where the above belts and the electrode belt 6 are overlayed and move around the pressure roll 3'. The separated water is dropped on the filtrate receiver 9 and the dehydrated sludge is removed by the scraper 4a from the belt.
