Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively carry out dehydrating treatment of a sludge or the like, in a belt press type dehydrator used in water treatment of an urban sewage or the like, by detecting a position of an end surface in a cloth width direction of a substance to be treated at a forced dehydrating part to confirm a press dehydrating condition accurately.
CONSTITUTION: A sludge in a storage tank 1 and a flocculating agent in a storage tank 4 are mixed in a mixing machine 7 and, thereafter, the resulting mixture is placed on a first moving filter cloth and a cake dehydrated in a gravity dehydrating part 11 is subjected to thickness adjustment by a roll 12 and, after subjected to forced dehydration at a forced dehydrating part 14 consisting of a straight line like press dehydrating zone A, an arch like compression zone B and a meandering shear dehydrating zone C, discharged therefrom. To the forced dehydrating part 14, a detecting apparatus 16 is provided and respective limit switches 17 are inserted between filter clothes 9, 13 to detect a position in a width direction of the cake. If the resulting detection value is reached to a set value or more, alarm is generated to inform a workman. Further, a roll 22 biased by a spring 21 is provided to a detecting apparatus 16 and integrally biased with movement of the filter clothes 9, 13 to a width direction.
