Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of elements of the electronic timepiece to reduce current consumption, by performing the time division decode processing by the timing signal formed from the frequency division output to control latch circuits corresponding to display segments. CONSTITUTION:Timing circuit 26 controlled by timing control circuit 27 to which the mode control signal is applied generates timing signals t1-t6 and t1'-t6' on basis of combination of plural frequency division stage outputs from frequency dividing circuit 2. Second, minute, hour, day, month counting circuits 3-7 and respective gates 9 and 10, gates 11 and 12... are controlled by signals t1-t6, and the input to common decoder 19 is performed in time division according to the selected mode. Decoded display data is latched and stored in latch circuits 20-25, which are controlled by signals t1'..., correspondingly to display segments. By this constitution where decoding of respective counting circuit is performed in time division by the common decoder, the number of elements for display of the watch is reduced accompanied with power consumption.
