Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the dimensional accuracy and strength of a Cu-Sn sintered sliding material which uses MoS2 as a solid lubricating material by coating Cu on the surface of MoS2 powder and using in producing said sliding material.
CONSTITUTION: In producing the sliding material by molding and sintering Cu-Sn alloy powder, MoS2 powder is mixed as a solid lubricating material. In this case, Cu is coated on the surface of the MoS2 powder by an electrochemical method and this Cu-coated MoS2 is mixed in Cu-Sn powder and the mixture is molded and sintered to produce the sliding material. The dimensional change at the singtering of the molding becomes neasrly the same as that of the molding not added with MoS2. The molding thus obtained is extremely high in dimensional accuracy and does not require any sizing process. As compared to the case in which MoS2 is added alone, there is practically no decrease in the strength of the sintered sliding material.
