Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a porous sintered body of superior corrosion resistance and weather resistance by mixing Al alloy powder or the like of low m. p. and contg. Cu in base powder of Al or Al alloy, molding the mixture and sintering the molding in a nonoxidative atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: One or two or more kinds of Cr, Ti, Sb, Co, Sr, Se, Zr or one or two or more kinds of their alloy powder are mixed together with Al alloy powder of m. p. lower than that of base powder of Al or Al alloy and contg. at least Cu into said base powder. After this mixture is molded substantially in a no pressure state, the molding is sintered in a vacuum or nonoxidative atmosphere at temperatures between the m. p. of the base power and the m. p. of the Al alloy powder. In some cases, metals which form homogeneous solid solution with Cu, for example, Mi, No or their alloy powder, are further added into said mixture.
