Peaks of IR absorption spectrum, about 3450, 2970, 1460, 1390, and 1040cm-1; peak of UV absorption spectrum, about 257W258nm; no characteristic absorption peak within the visible range in aqueous solution; color reactions, positive to Fehling's reagent and phenol-sulfuric acid reagent, false positive to phenylhydrazine reagent, ferric chloride reagent, etc.; low molecular weight free saccharides and amino acids, scarcely detected by thin layer chromatography; constituent elements, at least C, H and N are detected by elemental analysis; constituent saccharides, fucose, fructose and glucose; solubility, slightly soluble in hot water, very slightly soluble in water and methanol at room temperature; six peaks are detected by thermal decomposition gas chromatography.
USE: Composition for remedying and improving psychosomatic diseases.
PROCESS: The agent is prepared by extracting Fomes japonicus with hot water, removing the insoluble components from the extract, concentrating the extract at a low temperature (≤50°C), and subjecting the concentrate to dialysis and centrifugal separation.
