Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare the said metal molds having a wide range of molding and undergoing reliable operations by a method wherein a ring-shaped body at a high temperature is arranged around a rodlike nozzle so that the ringshaped body can come in contact with the nozzle when the molds are opened and it can be left from the nozzle when they are closed. CONSTITUTION:The metal mold is composed of a manifold 7 having a sprue 8, a molten resin passage 6, a fixed nozzle 1 and plates 13, 14 forming a cavity 4, etc. and in the intermediate plate 14 is fixed a ring-shaped body 18 heated by a heating plate 17 through an adiabatic layer 16. In the said apparatus, when the molds are closed, the nozzle 1 and the ring-shaped body 18 do not come in contact with each other and the front part of the nozzle 1 is cooled by the intermediate plate 14 and when the resin in the cavity 4 is condensed, a gate 3 is sealed securely. On the other hand, when the molds are opened, the nozzle 1 moves to the intermediate plate 14, the outer surface 19 of the nozzle 1 and the inner surface 20 of the ring-shaped body 18 come in contact, the temperature of the nozzle 1 increases, the cured resin in the gate 3 is melted to make next cycle molding possible.
