Abstract

PURPOSE:To conduct insert molding of metals by press molding by a method wherein a synthetic resin plate and a covering member are preheated to the temperatures near their melting points and then mutually fused by clamping pressure with auxiliary metals inposed therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The synthetic resin plate 1 and covering members 2 made of the same or similar material as the resin plate 1 are heated to the temperatures near their melting points and in this conditon, they are mounted between the surface of molds 10, 11 with reinforcing metals 3, 4 interposed therebetween. Then, with the molds 10, 11 closed and clamped, the resin plate 1 in a semifluid condition is press molded to take the mold shape, the auxiliary metals 3, 4 are forcibly half-buried into the resin plate 1 by the clamping pressure, and simultaneously, the covering member 2 is plastically deformed at its edge portions and pressure welded to the resin plate 1, the resin plate 1 and the covering member 2 being mutually fused under this condition.
