Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the production of noxious gas and to eliminate a trouble of knocking due to the lowering of an engine output, by a method wherein a pluraity of pulse voltages are generated in synchronism with the switching operation of a contact breaker, which is from on to off, and are fed to an ignition plug. CONSTITUTION:An ignition device consists of a signal generator 1 equipped with a contact breaker 1a, a pulse width detecting circuit 3 of a wave-form shaping circuit 2, which shapes a signal voltage of the signal generator 1 into wave form, an oscillating circuit 4, and a high-voltage generating circuit 7. After the pulse of the contact breaker 1a is shaped into wave form by means of the wave-form-shaping circuit 2, a pulse width thereof is detected, and oscillations of a given number are performed by making an oscillation period of the oscillation circuit 4 proportionate to a pulse width of a signal voltage of the signal generator 1. A trigger signal 1 is inputted to a switch circuit 6 in synchronism with the shaped pulse of the contact breaker 1a.
