Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve combusting condition by providing a high voltage electrode on which electricity is impressed for a certain period in a combusting chamber of the engine and forming discharge electric field in the combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: High voltage electrodes 20, 20A, 20B are provided between a cylinder block 1 and a cylinder head 2 toward a combustion chamber 8. These electrodes 20 are tightly held in a fitting groove 25 of a ceramic ring 21 and electrically connected with a high voltage impressing control device 22. Also, the DC current from a battery which is changed into the AC voltage at an inverter 29 and voltage-boosted at a transformer 30 is given to the device 22. Then, the ignition pulse and the rotating number signal are input to said device 22 and imprssed at the predetermined time of the engine.
