Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficiency of a transformer winding comprising a plurality of winding layers each made by spirally and axially winding a conductor around an insulating tube, by allowing each vertical spacer to be short so as to be placed within the ends of the upper and lower insulators provided at both ends of each winding layer in order to permit the flow difference among the ducts to be eliminated. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal spacers are removed at the upper and lower ends of coils, and each vertical spacer 11 is made short so as to be placed within the ends of the upper and lower insulators provided at both ends of each winding layer in order to form horizontal ducts 15 at the upper and lower ends of each spacer 11. In this, a coolant flows in from the horizontal duct 15 at the lower part of the coils, and while moving vertically the coolant diverges into veritcal ducts 14 and rises through the coil surfaces. Said mechanism permit the flow difference among the ducts to be eliminated, and therefore the cooling efficiency can be improved.
