Abstract
PURPOSE:To obstruct the movement of a winding positively, to wind wire rod itself of the winding roughly, to prevent partial heat generation due to the delicate motion of a winding section and to obviate quenching effectively by arranging insulating spacers at regular pitches in the circumferential direction between respective layers of the winding. CONSTITUTION:Superconducting wires 1 with extremely thin multiconductor filaments are wound at regular intervals in the axial direction of a coil. Insulating spacers 4 are disposed at regular pitches in the circumferential direction between respective layers of the windings. Upper layer spacers and lower layer ones are bonded mutually in the spacers 4. The windings are bonded and held into grooves 3 formed at winding pitches to the spacers 4. Air gaps among the windings and the spacers 4 are used as cooling channels into which a refrigerant flows. Consequently, the wires 1 are held under the state in which they are buried substantially among the spacers 4 laminated and bonded in the radial direction. Accordingly, partial heat generation due to the delicate movement of a winding section is removed, thus effectively preventing quenching.
