Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnet material with superior magnetic characteristics and machinability by mixing a specified Sn-contg. alloy into Fe-Cr-Co alloy powder having a specified component ratio so that the Sn content is adjusted to a specified percentage followed by forming and sintering at a predetermined temp.
CONSTITUTION: Sn or an Sn-Fe, Sn-Ni or Sn-Cu alloy is mixed into Fe-Cr-Co alloy powder consisting of 15W40% Cr, 10W30% Co, and the balance Fe and impurities so that the Sn content is adjusted to 0.2W4.0%. The mixture is press formed and sintered at ≥1,200°C to obtain a permanent magnet. To the Fe-Cr-Co alloy may be added ≤5% one or more among Ti, Nb, Al, V, Mo and W. In case the oxygen content of the alloy powder is high, ≤1% C powder is added to enhance the magnetism. When a high Co alloy is used, it is effective to blend ≤3% Si.
