Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure an accurate detection on the ground for the position of a travelling object without installing any facilities for transmission and reception, by attaching the resonance circuit element to be coupled to the multipair cross induction lines on the travelling object. CONSTITUTION:In case the resonance circuit element 14 on the travelling object is in the cross section A of e.g. cross pair 20', the voltage V1 induced in the cross section A of the pair 20' and via the element 14 has an opposite phase to the reference voltage V0 of the reference pair 20. And the voltage V2 induced directly at the pair 20' has a gain of 90 deg. to the voltage V0. Accordingly, the compound value V3 of the V1 and V2 is delivered to the output terminal 24. And in case the travelling object is in the cross section B of the pair 20', the compound value between the voltage V1' induced via the element 14 and the voltage V2' induced directly becomes V3' to be delivered to the terminal 24. In such way, the compound voltage V3 and V3' have the different phase angles by the sections A and B. And thus these phase angles are compared with the phase of the voltage V0 along with the phase angle of the induced signal of other cross pair. Thus the position of the travelling object can be detected.
