Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable accurate measurement of buried position of a conductor by determining changes in the direction of a synthetic magnetic field generated from the conductor and a return current line when the position of installing the return current line is changed, at two points on the surface of ground outside both sides of the conductor. CONSTITUTION:A return current line 14 is provided on the surface of ground where a conductor 11 is buried and one end thereof 14 is connected to one end of the conductor 11 through a rising line 16 while the other end of the line 14 is connected to the other end of the conductor 11 through a transmitting unit 17 and the rising line 18 to form a closed loop. The transmitting unit 17 amplifies signals from a transmitter 19 through a voltage amplifier 20 and fed to the conductor 11 through the line 14 and the rising line 16. At the same time, current values flowing through the line 14 are measured with a current measuring device 21 to adjust the amplification rate of the power amplifier 20 so as to exceed a fixed value.
