Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the coating having a superior lubricating property, by performing rubbing treatment on the surface of anodic oxidation coating of aluminum or aluminum alloy secondarily electrolyzed in the aqueous solution of ammonium thiomolybdate.
CONSTITUTION: Porous alumite coating is chemically formed by performing the anodic oxidation of aluminum or aluminum alloy in the electrolyte, such as sulfuric acid, oxalic acid. Next, the secondary electrolysis of said alumite coating is performed in the electrolyte of aqueous solution of ammonium thiomolybdate. Thus treated anodic oxidation coating is washed by water and after that, is dried and rubbing treatment is performed. Various methods, such as repeatedly rubbing with soft cloth, paper or tanned skin, rapping, polishing, grinding, are used for the rubbing treatment. By this treatment, the alumite coating remarkably improved the lubricating property, can be obtained.
