Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the quality of recording images well by exposing one end of the resistance layer of a recording body and supplying the power between the same and the recording electrode opposing to the recording layer by a conductive roller in contact with said end thereby cleaning the end part of the resistance layer at all times. CONSTITUTION:A resistance layer 1b is held exposed at the end of the recording body of a drum 6, and the voltage is held applied by a roller 8 to the surface thereof. Further a cylindrical cleaning brush 9 is put in contact with not only the recording layer 1a but the resistance layer 1b of the end as well and the brush 9 is driven by the rotation of the drum 6. Thereby, the residual developer stuck on the drum may be sufficiently cleaned. In addition, if a hole is opened at one end of the cover 10 of the brush 9 and is sucked with a vacuum pump, the foreign material of the residual developer may be recovered as well, thus the cleaning effect becomes much higher.
