Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the control for the supply amount of the developer and to ensure the assured cleaning function, by turning a draw-up roller which supplies the developer with a press contact to a development electrode roller and so that a relative shift is produced to the development roller. CONSTITUTION:A development electrode roller 2 gets close to the surface of a photosensitive drum 9 and turns in the same direction as the durm 9. A draw-up roller 3 is made of an elastic material like sponge, etc, and turns in the opposite direction to the roller 2 with a press contact to the surface of the roller 2. These rollers 2 and 3 are set in a development tank 1. The bias voltage is applied to the roller 2 so that it functions as a counter electrode to the drum 9. The roller 3 functions to have a contact with the developer 5 and supply the developer to the surface of the roller 2 and also has a cleaning function to suck up the used developer from the surface of the roller 2. In such way, the supply amount of the developer can be easily controlled. Furthermore the cleaning is possible in an extremely assured way.
