Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound in high yield, with simple procedure, by reacting an anthranylaldehyde derivative with dimethylaminomethylene diphosphonate derivative in the presence of NaH, and hydrolyzing the product in the presence of an alkali.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I is made to react with a compound of formula II (R is lower alkyl) in the presence of NaH, pref. in a reaction solvent such as dioxane, etc., at 40W80°C. The amounts of the compound of formula II and NaH are not less than equivalent to the amount of the compound formula. The resulting compounds of formula III and formula IV are hydrolyzed in the presence of an alkali (e.g. NaOH, etc.) to afford the objective compound of formula V. The compound of formula II which is one of the starting materials, is obtained by heating dimethylformamide dimethylacetal (1mol) with diethyl phosphite (2mol) at 60W80°C for a short time, and distilling the reaction product under reduced pressure.
