PURPOSE: To detect abnormal vibrations accurately and early by a method wherein frequency analysis is conducted on the waveform of the axial vibration, and both the compositional ratio of the harmonic components and the width of the axial vibration are displayed simultaneously.
CONSTITUTION: The vibration signal from an axial vibrometer 11 is smoothed by a detecting circuit 13, subjected to picture signal processing at a computer 14 and displayed on a CRT15. Also, the vibration signal is branched from a point upstream of the detecting circuit 13, then amplified 16, the vibration waveform is analyzed by a frequency analyzer 17, the results of the analysis are subjected to picture signal processing at the computer 14 and displayed on the CRT15. Simultaneously, the results of the frequency analysis of the vibration signals fed from all the axial vibrometers 11 are displayed. Since the axial vibration may be grapsed as the compositional ratios of the rotation frequency component, the subharmonic component and the harmonic component, the results of the analysis by the frequency analyzer 17 are processed in the computer 14 to obtain the compositional ratio of the harmonic components, which is displayed on the CRT15.
