Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the abnormal vibration at early stage with high sensitivity, by providing a means capable of reducing apparent vibration amplitude at the time of normal operation and also a means capable of discriminating abnormal vibration from the vibration amplitude varying tendency.
CONSTITUTION: The axial vibration of the rotary machine, which consists of a high-pressure turbine 101, a low-pressure turbine 102 and a generator 103, is detected by a vibration detectors 111W116. A vibration pre-processing device operates vibration amplitude and converts it into an electrical signal. A plant data preprocessing device 240 converts number-of-rotations signal 243, a generator output signal 241 and a vacuity signal 242 into appropriate electrical signals. A data processing device 3 rearranges vibration amplitude and plant data in order of time sequence and detects abnormal vibration from vibration amplitudes of each operating condition and the variation tendency. A data processing device 4 mainly detects abnormal vibration by aging. An indication device 5 indicates results of monitoring and contents of a filing device 6.
