Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of work by surely detecting breakage of a grindstone by means of an on-line information processing system through the comparison of revolutions detected as a pulse signal with the preset voltage.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting head 1 detects the number revolutions of the rotary shaft of a grindstone in a cutting device in a non-contacting manner. A wave reformer 2 amplifies and reforms a signal from the detecting head 1 and generates a pulse signal by dividing one revolution by two or more. A F/V convertor 3 which converts a frequency signal into a voltage signal, converts the pulse signal input into a voltage-transformed signal, that is, the revolution is transformed into an analogous value. A high-pass filter 4 removes a direct crrent component from the output signal of the F/V convertor. A comparator 5 produces a positive voltage only when the voltage of the signal from the filter 4 is higher than the preset voltage, meanwhile produces 0 voltage when it is lower than the preset value. This set voltage 6 indicates that the grindstone is broken.
