Abstract

PURPOSE: To control heat transport quantity without controlling heating capacity in an evaporating portion or cooling capacity in a condensing portion by a method wherein the flow rate of a medium liquid which returns along the inside wall surface of a container of the heat pipe is controlled in proportion to the temperature in the condensing portion or the like.
CONSTITUTION: In the heat pipe a fin portion 21 on the evaporating portion 11 is exposed to a high temperature atmosphere. The medium liquid 13 in the evaporating portion 11 is evaporated by the heat and the vapor is elevated toward the condensing portion 12 in the container 10. This vapor is liquefied through the condensing portion 12. Then, a temperature detecting material 14 provided with a reflux control means such as thermowax etc. cannot push down a movable weir 16 when the temperature in the condensing portion 12 does not exceed an intended temperature and liquefied medium liquid is flowed down as it is. On the other hand, when the temperature in the condensing portion 12 reaches an intended one, the movable weir 16 is pushed up against a spring 18 by the expansion of the temperature detecting material 14, the liquefied medium liquid is reserved temporally and heat transport is stopped.
