PURPOSE:To enable peak value of drain current of main switch to be limited to a constant value at all times, by providing a step for detecting current of winding of a transformer and also a step for breaking the main switch by an output of the former step. CONSTITUTION:As a peak value of drain current of a main switch 3 is determined by the voltage impressed between the main switch's gate sources, the peak value of drain current is varied by winding n1 of a transformer 2, turn ratio of the winding n1, input power source voltage and the main switch's performance characteristic, etc. In this case, if current (drain current) of the winding n1 is detected by a resistance 11, and when voltages generated at the both ends of this resistance 11 reached a value enabling base current to be passed through a transistor 10, the transistor 10 is conducted to shortcircuit between gate sources of the main switch 3 and break the main switch 3 to limit the peak value of drain current to a constant value at all times.
