Abstract
PURPOSE:To accomplish an economical operation of an electric machine by a method wherein the amount of flowing water passing through a water cooler is controlled by a regulating valve or a gate valve in accordance with the load of an electric machine to be cooled by water cooler. CONSTITUTION:Signals from a ventilating outlet thermometer of a water cooler 2, a winding thermometer of a motor 1, a cooling water outlet thermometer, a load current measuring instrument of a motor 1, an electric machine load detector 15, etc. are inputted to a computer control device 16 and control signals for the degree of valve opening are outputted to a controlling valve 14 provided on a cooling water pipe in the water cooler 2 and a gate valve 17 provided on a main water pipe 10 at the water outlet of a water pump 9. As a result, cooling water is used effectively and the energy consumed for cooling water supply can be economized.
