Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the responsibility of a voltage controlling system, and make said system to perform control of high precision by regulating a small-aperture auxiliary valve of a fuel supplying system through the detection of an output voltage, and regulating a large-aperture main valve through the detection of an output current. CONSTITUTION:Fuel is supplied to a fuel cell 2 from a fuel supplying device 1 through an auxiliary valve 32 with a small aperture and a main valve 31 with a large aperture. The temperature of the cell 2 is maintained constant by detecting it with a detector 4, and by moving a fan 44. The output voltage of the cell 2 is made constant by comparing it with a set value by means of a PID voltage controlling circuit 61, and by regulating the auxiliary valve 32. In addition, the amount of fuel flowing into the cell 2 is adjusted to be suitable for the output of the cell 2 by detecting the output current by means of a current transformer 7, and by controlling the main valve 31. Consequently, a basic electric power corresponding to the output electric power can be produced irrespective of the voltage regulation, and the regulation characteristic seen during the time when the output electric power is large can be greatly improved.
