Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve accuracy in various controlling operations by a method wherein the titled control devices are controlled by the temperature of a lubricating oil and the heating condition of the engine as a source of various control signals is detected correctly even at the time of cooling the engine. CONSTITUTION:A driving device 17 for driving a water pump 2 in proportion to the temperature of an engine 1 is provided so as to control the quantity of circulation of cooling water in proportion to the temperature of the engine and an exhaust gas return flow control device 30 for controlling the interruption of the return flow of the exhaust gas by closing an exhaust gas return flow passage 18 is provided. Further, a control circuit 35 comprising a temperature detecting circuit 36 generating a voltage signal corresponding to the temperature of lubricating oil, an output current control circuit 37 generating an output current signal to an electromagnetic valve 29 in response to the signal from the circuit 36 and an amplifier circuit 38 for the circuit 37 are provided. With the above arrangement, the device 30 is controlled in proportion to the temperature of the lubricating oil and when the engine is cooled, the valve 29 is turned OFF to thereby interrupt the return flow of the exhaust gas while when the heating of the engine is completed, the valve 29 is turned ON to thereby allow the return flow of the exhaust gas to be started.
