Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit a high-speed windmill which is provided with rotating vanes each having a vertical rotating shaft at an equal distance from the center of the rotating frame and has a rotation speed higher than that of the vanes, to have a maximum efficiency by optimizing the elevation angles of the vanes according to the air speed.
CONSTITUTION: If the first direction of rotating vanes D1, D2, D3 and D4 with respect to the rotating direction are set so as to be Q, zero, -Q and zero respectively, the relationships between them are kept constant during the rotation, and the windmill rotates in the direction of the arrow M. The vanes D1 and D3 receive thrust in the rotating direction from wind, and the vanes D2 and D4 have a minimum resistance. Moreover, varying the distance x between a crank shaft A and a main rotating shaft Y permits the elevation angle of each of the vanes D1WD4 to be adjusted so that the windmill can most efficiently derive power for the rotation from wind.
