Abstract
PURPOSE: To conduct denitrifying treatment efficiently by a method wherein an outflow liquid is dropped from a denitrifying tank, flowed down to a deep well-shaped nitrating portion, enfolding air, inverted at the bottom to form an upward current, pumped up to the denitrifying tank again, and circulated.
CONSTITUTION: Raw water 9 is flowed into the denitrifying tank 1, overflows, and falls to the deep well-shaped nitrating portion 2. Air in the atmosphere enfolded at that time is offered for nitration, and a blower is not necessarity needed. A downward flow is changed into an upward flow at the bottom 2', and the water is circulated to the denitrifying tank by means of a pump 8 near the surface. One portion of the liquid discharged from the pump 8 is introduced to an outflow portion 1' through a bypass path 11, the flow rate of a nitrating liquid circulated is inhibited, and the increase of the quantity of dissolved oxygen carried into the denitrifying tank is prevented.
