Abstract

PURPOSE: To let surface treatment of metals and other be evenly performed in a short time by providing a suitable number of water flow pumps which form numerous fine bubbles by drawing outside air into the treating liquid being passed by being faced to the material to be treated in a treating cell.
CONSTITUTION: A required amount of electrolyte is filled in a treating cell 1. The material to be treated (c) composed of, e.g., Al alloy, is opposed to electrodes (a), (b) and is subjected to anodic oxidation treatment by supplying current. When a pump 5 is driven at the time of this treatment, part of the treating liquid in the cell 1 is sent to the feed ports 7' of water flow pumps 6 and is discharged into the cell 1 toward the material to be treated (c) through the discharge pipe parts 7 having feed paths 10, nozzle parts 9, pump chambers 8 and discharge paths 11, whereby it is circulated. This liquid draws the outside air through suction pipes 13 owing to the reduced pressure in the pump chambers 8 and forms numerous fine bubbles thereby enhancing the stirring and cooling effect in the cell 1 and breaking the surface boundary films of the material to be treated (c). Hence, the short time treatment by high current densities becomes feasible.
