Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the resolution of the reflection-type fiber sensor of coaxial type, by setting a smaller number of apertures of receiving optical fiber than the projecting optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The light given from illuminating light source 12 of projecting/ receiving device 10 is transmitted via projecting optical fiber 7, fiber extension part 4 and tip straight part 2 each to illuminate the subject to be tested. On the other hand, the light reflected from the test subject is given to photoelectric transducer 11 via part 2, part 4 and receiving optical fiber 6 each. For the structure of part 2 of reflection-type fiber sensor 1, the receiving raw material optical fiber and the projecting raw material optical fiber are provided coaxially at the center part and the circumference each of part 2. At the same time, the number of apertures of the receiving optical fiber is set smaller than that of the projecting optical fiber. As a result, the receiving angle is reduced to increase the resolution.
