Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely disconnect a starting coil from a power source when a prescribed speed is reached after starting, by connecting between the starting coil and the power source a switching element which acts depending on the magnitude of the secondary current. CONSTITUTION:When a starting switch 2 is closed, a starting current flows through a main winding 3 and the secondary current flows through the secondary winding 5. As a result, a voltage V proportional to the secondary current is induced across a detection coil 6. While a speed is low, the voltage V is so high that a Zener diode 10 is closed. As a result, a thyristor 11 and a TRIAC14 are closed and a current flows through a starting winding 4. When the speed of a rotor rises, the voltage V falls below the Zener voltage. As a result, the thyristor 11 and the TRIAC14 are opened so that the starting winding 4 is disconnected from a power source 1.
