CONSTITUTION: A variable speed prime mover 4 and a fixed speed prime mover 5 are connected with an adder 1 composed of differential gearing etc. through clutches 2, 3 and the adder 1 is connected with a propeller 7 through a propeller shaft 6. The output number of rotation n2 of the variable speed prime mover 4 is variable. The output number of rotation n1 of the fixed speed prime mover 5 is fixed and a fixed speed auxiliary machine 9 is connected through a power transmission shaft 8. In this composition, since the number of rotation is free to be transmitted to the adder 1 by the detachable operation of clutches 2, 3 the number of rotation of the propeller 7 can be changed by the prime motors, separately or in combination and all the while the rotation of the fixed speed auxiliary machine 9 is fixed by the fixed speed prime mover 5 and stable operation is obtained.
