Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the vibration of propulsion propeller and the cavitation while to eliminate the reinforcement such as stern bone material, by providing an aligning screw propeller above and rear of the propulsion screw propeller.
CONSTITUTION: When rotating a transmission shaft 14 by means of a rotary equipment in a vessel, an aligning screw propeller 11 will rotate through bevel gears 13, 15 and a shaft 12. Upon rotation of the propeller 11 the water is sucked at the front and the slow flow at the upper region of a propulsion screw propeller 2 is accelerated to uniform the flow into said propeller 2. Since rotating flow does not remain in said flow the turbulence is reduced. While since the aligning propeller 11 is provided at the rear of the propulsion propeller 2, the distance between the propulsion propeller 2 and the stern bone material 5 is shortened.
