Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the density of molded product uniform by applying an impact vibration to die, lower punch, and core rod in molding a metal powder for the manufacture of a sintered product.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material metal powder is filled in a space where molding is made by the die 1, the lower punches 3a and 3b, and core rod 4, pressed by the upper punch 2 for molding, and then knocked out to manufacture the molding 5. In this case, a supersonic vibration is applied by the supersonic oscillators 10, 12 and 14 fitted with the die 1, the lower punch 3a, and the core rod 4 to cause the metal particles to spring up from the die 1, the lower punch 3a, and the side wall of the core rod 4 to greatly reduce the friction between them. Thus, the density of the molding can be made uniform in every portion and thereby the manufacture of excellent sintered product is made possible. In this case, because the lower punch scarcely constitutes the wall surface of molding space, no installation of a supersonic oscillator is required for the punch.
