Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture compression moldings, angle corner sections thereof are round, easily by using an intermediate mold with a through hole, in which a convex section of a force piston can slide and reciprocate, and a mold space forming wall surface, which is expanded downward in size larger than said through hole.
CONSTITUTION: A metal mold for compression molding consists of three sections of a force piston 2 with a convex section 4 for pushing resin, an intermediate mold 3 with a through hole 5, in which said convex section can slide and reciprocate, and a mold space forming wall surface 6, which is expanded downward in size larger than said through hole 5, and a drag 1. Since a wall surface 6 for forming round angle corner sections is made up to the intermediate mold 3, acute angle sections are not included which cause damage to the metal mold substantially, thus damaging no metal mold even when compressing and forming thermoplastic resin into which porous substances, such as glass fiber, etc. are compounded.
