Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the large discharge quantity and high-speed extraction of a film by a method wherein ringlike cooling air is blown against and made to contact with bubbles in the course of swelling so as to promote and balance the expansion of the film in the forming of the film by an inflation method. CONSTITUTION:Between a pair of dies 10 and 11 is formed a ringlike die slit 12, which discharges melted plastic like a tube. Surrounding the die slit 12, a ringlike cooling air blowout port 13 is formed. Melted plastic is discharged from the die slit 12 and, the air for expansion being blown in from the center of the die 10 and the cooling air being blown out from the cooling air blowout port 13, a bubble A is made to come close to the circumferential surface 16 of a taper. The cooling air from the outlet 13 expands thus in a taperlike manner and rises, being contacted with the surface of the bubble A, while turning to be a high-speed air stream in the narrow gap of an outside ring 15, cooling the bubble A and balancing a frost line. In addi- tion, the swelling of the bubble can be promoted by the difference in pressure produced through its lowering by the high-speed air stream.
