Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize the retention of a film bubble, while improving a cooling effect, by locating a special guide cylinder at the downstream side of an air ring body which sprays cooling air to the film bubble extruded into a thin cylindrical shape under a molten condition. CONSTITUTION:In order to cool a thin cylindrical film bubble A extruded from the inflation die 2 of an extruder 1 under a molten condition, a guide cylinder 13 movable along the running direction of the film bubble A is located through a support 12a and a slide ring 15 at the downstream side of an air ring 4 provided with an annular nozzle 4a to blow cooling air toward the film bubble A. A fibrous cover 14 having rugged surface and a heat-insulating property, e.g. felt, is applied to the whole inner surface and the upper and lower end parts of the guide cylinder 13. The cooling air injected from the nozzle 4a of the air ring 4 flows through a space between the cover 14 of the guide cylinder 13 and the outside surface of the film bubble A. Consequently, a cooling effect is improved.
