Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the affection of the variation of environmental condition to the configuration, thickness, diameter and the like of the parison after sizing by a method wherein the outer surface of the parison is directly cooled upon sizing uniformly and sufficiently by the annular flow of cooling water along the parison. CONSTITUTION:While the parison 9, in molten condition, extruded from the nozzle 1 of an extruder is passing through a parison sizing device 4, the cooling water, introduced into the ring-shaped groove 12 of the upper inside wall of a parison outer diameter holding and regulating cylinder 3, flows down annularly along the outer surface of the parison. Consequently, the outer surface of the parison is cooled by this cooling water directly and uniformly while the hardening of the parison is progressed and the configuration, thickness, diameter of the parison is stabilized.
