Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the blooming phenomenon by applying the voltage which is not turned on by the clock pulse applied to the circuit element during the transfer of the charge to the electrode on the photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:Both n<+>-type source region 11 and n<+>-type drain region 12 are provided on p-type semiconductor substrate 10, and gate oxidized film 14 of the insulator is formed at the 1st gate electrode 13 having the area overlapping region 11 as well as the area between electrode 13 and substrate 10 each. Furthermore, the 1st electrode 16 connected electrically to region 11 is formed by insulator layer 15 and in separation from electrode 13, and photoconductor layer 18 is provided on electrode 16 via positive hole blocking layer 17. Then transparent electrode 19 is formed on layer 18, and voltage Va is applied to electrode 19 from power source 20. When voltage Va is set to a level higher than the potential of the source region caused by the transfer pulse applied to electrode 13, no potential difference exists in the photoconductor when the potential of electrode 16 is reduced down to Va by the charge produced by incident light 21.
