Abstract
PURPOSE: A bacterium producing an antibiotic, M5070, is cultured in a medium and the antibiotic, M5070, is collected from the culture mixture, whereby a novel antibiotic, which can be used in the form of nontoxicity salt with a nontixicity inorganic or organic acid, is prepared.
CONSTITUTION: Westerdykella dispersa M5070 is cultured in a medium and a novel antibiotic, M5070 is collected. As the bacterium belonging to Westerdykella and producing M5070, any mutant may be employed and the bacterium can be aerobically cultured in a usual medium used for ordinary microorganisms. The culture temperature is preferably 25W30°C, period is 2W5 days, and the incubation is stopped when the potency reaches maximum. The collection of M5070 is readily done through separation and purification processes utilizing weak-basic fat-soluble properties of M5070.
