Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily perform the titled dehydrating and discharging economically by precipitating and concentrating sludge in a precipitating vessel and filtering the same through multiple filter plates to lower its moisture content then expanding the spacings between the respective filter plates in consecutive order and continuously discharging the sludge.
CONSTITUTION: The suspension having undergone chemical treatment is flowed into a precipitating vessel 1. Sludge is precipitated and concentrated and at the same time it is passed through multiple filter plates 5 juxtaposed at fixed intervals, whereby it is filtered by gravity and forcibly filtered by a vacuum, so that its moisture content is lowered. After this, a bottom plate 15 is opened and the respective plates 5 supported by one shaft on one side rotating around ventilation pipes 11, 11' by connecting pipes 20, 20' are sequentially turned to allow the sludge to be separated from the respective plates 5, whereby the sludge is continuously discharged little by little at a fixed rate. After the discharging, the repsective plates 5 are returned to the home positions and the bottom plate 15 is reclosed to reset the precipitating vessel 1 to the orignal form. The above-mentioned treatment method is so arranged as to permit continuous treatment by using a plurality of the precipitating vessels 1.
