Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable economical treatment by selectively recovering thiocyanate through electrodialysis after removing solid from waste liquid of desulfurization and decyanogenization and treating by activated sludge process mixing the waste liquid with gas liquor.
CONSTITUTION: Solid matter is removed in a solid removing process from waste liquid (rhodan waste liquid) of desulfurization and decyanogenization obtained in refining coke oven gas. Then, thiocyanate is separated and recovered in an electrodialysis process and residual liquid is mixed with gas liquor obtained separately in refining coke oven gas. The mixed liquid is sent to an activated sludge treatment process and the supernatant liquid is discharged. In the above-mentioned electrodialysis process, thiocyanate is removed utilizing a multichamber type electrodialysis apparatus in whch monovalent anion exchange membranes and cation exchange membranes are arranged alternately to form multichamber partitioned by the membranes.
