Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the ribbon crystalline solar cell having a high conversion efficiency when finger electrodes are formed on the surface of the ribbon crystal being made to grow continuously by dipping the lower end of a capillary in a liquid of semiconductor fusion and conducting the liquid to the upper end by capillarity by a method wherein the parallel electrodes are made to meet at right angles with the direction of crystal pulling up. CONSTITUTION:The lower end of the capillary is dipped in a liquid of semiconductor fusion and the liquid is conducted to the upper end of the capillary by capillarity to make a ribbon crystal to be grown continuously by providing the size of sectional area with the shape of upper end part. On the ribbon crystal made to grown by this EFG method, plural twin crystal bands 1 parallel to the growth orientation are formed, and the crystal orientation of fine single crystal parts 2 caught in the twin crystal band is ordinarily close to [110] face and the growth orientation coincides with [211]. Therefore when plural finger electrodes are to be provided on the face of the ribbon crystal 5 in parallel with each other, they are made to meet at right angles with the growth orientation, and current generated by receiving light is taken out without crossing the twin crystal band 1.
