Abstract
PURPOSE: To break down and to agitate scum and enhance production efficiency for methane by providing an air pump which sprays the treating liquid in a fermentation tank from the top end of a pipe for spraying of treating liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A covered cylinder 19 is floated in the treating liquid 9 in a fermentation tank 8 so that produced gases are collected therein. A pipe 11 for gas removal is penetrated through this cylinder 10, and the bottom end of a pipe 12 for spraying treating liquid is immersed in the liquid 9. The top end thereof is disposed in the gas space in the tank 8. Further, one end of a connecting pipe 13 is connected to the pipe 11, and the other end is connected to the pipe 12 below the level of the liquid 9. Also, an air pump 14 is installed to the pipe 13, and the produced gases in the tank 8 are forcibly circulated in order of the pipe 11→ the pipe 13→ the pipe 12 by the operation of the pump 14. Hence, scum is broken down and agitated, and the production efficiency of gaseous methane is improved.
