Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain to defoam effectively by a simple structure by providing an upwardly directed trumpet like inflow pipe having a liquid inlet mounted to a bottom part thereof and a baffle having a contact surface opposed to an upwardly directed liquid stream flowed into from said liquid inlet.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid containing small gas bubbles is emitted to an upward direction from the liquid inlet and almost all liquid is contacted with the contact surface 3a and small gas bubbles are adhered to a contact plate 3 by surface tension or the like so as to be hardly separated therefrom. Thereby, the liquid flowed upwardly through a gap 3b comes to contain no small gas bubbles as flowed to an upward direction and, in the vicinity of a liquid level, comes to contain almost large gas bubbles. Small gas bubbles adhered to the liquid contact surface 3a are successively bound with small gas bubbles contained in the succeeding inflow liquid and, when said small gas bubbles are grown to large gas bubbles, said large gas bubbles are floated to the liquid level at a rapid raising speed to be defoamed. The liquid reached to an upper end of the trumpet like inflow pipe 2 is moved to a certain extent in parallel to the liquid level along a horizontal flange 6 and, thereafter, flowed downwardly to a storage part 7a.
